Closing Coverage Gaps for Community Health Centers

A majority of adverse events are covered under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), which covers medical/professional malpractice for acts or omissions by Community Health Centers and their qualified individual providers. The Health & Resources Services Administration recommends that health centers purchase a gap ( or ‘wrap around’) policy to provide professional liability coverage when a claim under FTCA is denied.
